America has always been a nation of tinkerers, inventors, and entrepreneurs. The rise of the Maker Movement and growing community of self-identified “Makers” is a huge opportunity for the United States. 3D Printing is a signature project of the Maker Movement,a cultural shift from consumption to creation.

arrowThe Berkshire Athenaeum is proud to offer 3D Printing to the City of Pittsfield! The Reference Department has available for general use one Ultimaker 2 and one SeeMeCNC Orion. The Children’s Library has available one Ultimaker 2 which is included in programming in the Children’s Library.
The Reference Department recognizes that 3D Printing and Computer Aided Design (CAD) is new to our community. We recognize that the schedules and needs of members in our city varies widely, so in addition to onsite sessions  we are offering a self-guided program that can largely be completed on your own time. Please consult the library website for details on our self-guided program.

Staff-led workshops are offered regularly. Please inquire at the Reference Desk.
